The Petuaria Community Forum is to host a celebration event in support of the Tour de Yorkshire on Thursay 2nd May. Located on the Burrs playing field, Welton Road, Brough, the main attraction will be a large pop-up screen and a marquee housing stalls selling local produce, refreshments, crafts and other products and services from local businesses.
The big screen will be showing live action from Stage 1 of the Men’s Race from its departure in Doncaster and along the length of the route which takes in Brough and Elloughton before continuing through Welton, North Ferriby and Swanland. Coverage will continue on to Beverley and over the Wolds to the finish line at Selby.
Local residents are invited to bring along picnic tables and chairs and make a day of it. The event will provide a real opportunity to bring local people, businesses and community groups together.

The pre-race caravan is expected to enter Brough along Cave Road at around 1.15pm followed by the riders about 2.55pm. The route continues up eastward Welton Road before turning north up Elloughton Road. The first sprint of the race takes place on Main Street, Elloughton with rides turning southwest briefly along Welton Low Road before heading up Dale Road over the A63 and over High Road into Welton at around 3.05pm. Stalls at the event are available at a cost of £25. Opportunities to advertise on the big screen before and after the race are also available at a cost £25. Assistance with design and artwork is available at an additional cost if needed.
